• I recently installed WordPress onto my home computer, which is doubling as a web server (please spare me the lectures about the safety of such a maneuver).

This works fine for a while, until my ISP changes my IP address. It does so about once a month. At that point, WordPress starts tries to relink with my old IP address, an obvious problem, because my machine is not on that address anymore.

To circumvent the issue, I tried readdressing WordPress to my domain name (which I forward to my IP address). However, when I do this, and I try to login (https://www.proclivitiesink.com/wordpress/wp-login.php) I will type in my username and password. The screen will reload. I’ll do it once more, and then, for some strange reason, my browser loads https://www.www.remarpro.com homepage (yet, my domain and login address https://www.proclivitiesink.com/wordpress/wp-login.php are still visible in the address bar.

    #1. Why is this happening?

#2. Is there any way to safely change the wordpress IP address so, under dynamic IP circumstances, I won’t run into issues with wordpress loading the wrong ip?

#3. If there isn’t any way to automatically do this, is there any way to change my IP address for wordpress outside of the general options menu?

In addition, I forgot to ask: If someone else is running a similar setup, could they explain how they get around the changing IP address issue?

You’re going to want to look at something like dynip or no-ip services. Google for “Dynamic DNS” for some options.
