Changing Hosts – Old Host Currently Down

    My current host has been down four days and I have no idea when this will be resolved.

    I intend to switch hosts. Will this issue (the current host site down) cause me a problem when pointing to new servers?

    My last backup was 10/22/07 so if I must use my backup file I will use quite a few post. Lesson learned!

    Install the same version of WordPress at your new host as you had at your old host.

    I intend to use Yahoo for hosting, I’m not positive what version I had and what will migrate over? In other words will I have to use my backup and rebuild anything missing in the theme, plugins or template?

    If you have a backup of your files then look at the wp-content/version.php file to see what version you have.

    I would guess a backup of your files (as opposed to a backup of your MySQL database) would have your theme files.
