Is there a way using custom CSS to select which gallery is being displayed when my site is viewed on a mobile device instead of a desktop? One a desktop the gallery is 4 images across and it adapts if the browser is resized, so all is good. However, on a mobile device it’s not what I want it to look like so

TiaI’d like to create a separate gallery that is specifically built for mobile device visitors. Creating the gallery I have in mind is not a problem, but finding a way to substitufe it seems to be.

I’m not a great CSS person, so any ideas or suggestions are appreciated.

    TIA
    Hank

    Hi @oldcowhand

Could you kindly clarify if what you want to implement is to change the number of columns displayed when viewing the gallery on mobile devices, or if you are referring to having a different gallery template being used when on mobile devices?

This clarification will enable me to have a full understanding of what you want to implement and enable me to advise appropriately.

    Thanks.

Thanks for getting back to me. I’d like to be able to call up a completey different gallery. For instance, on my pages now I use a Justified gallery, (by the way I love this plugin, anyway) for mobile visitors I’d like to switch to a Carousel gallery.-

    thanks

    Hi @oldcowhand

Thanks for getting back to me with the extra details.

For what you want to implement, it cannot be done using CSS. To change the gallery template based on the device you are using, you can do this with a PHP snippet, and it would need development resources to implement this.

You may need to get in touch with a developer to assist with this. Here’s a link to available FooGallery Hooks that may assist with this: https://fooplugins.com/documentation/foogallery/developers/foogallery-hooks/

    Thanks.
