    Hi,

I’m looking to change my hosting plan with GoDaddy from a Windows to Linux server for a couple of reasons and I’m wondering if there will be any problems with that, or if anybody’s done it before?

I will of course be doing a full db & directory backup offline before doing so, but will there be any problems with the site?

I will also be checking this with my host, however I don’t just want to take their word for it!

    Thanks

    Thanks for the re-assurance Samuel,

The main problem now seems to be that it will take up to 72hrs of downtime, sigh…

Looks like I’ll need a maintenance mode plugin!

    Thanks

I know they say that – I’ve not seen it take longer than 6 hours

I’ll hope not, but best to leave it until the weekend in case. (Its a B2B site, so not a lot of traffic then)

    Cheers.
