Changing from Static Page to Most Recent Posts

In Settings / Reading my site is currently set to use a static page (Home). The posts are in “Blog”. All is well.

However I want to change to my front page being “most recent posts.”

When I make the change in Settings, all of the blog entries disappear and the Home page stays the same. I have tried various ways around this but never managed to get it right.

I understood that one can “change from one to another at any time”.

After various attempts I have got it back to the way it was..ie static page but want to change to “most recent posts”.
