I searched the forum and the codex and did not find an answer…but when new users are registered in my blog I get an email from my hosting company default account…not from any address I can find in wordpress options.

how do I set what email account the registration email comes from?

  • normally, they come from [email protected]

If they’re coming from your hosting company’s default account, then there may be a chance that your host’s configuration doesn’t allow address masking for outgoing mail.

Thanks…I read somewhere that if I add the email account “[email protected]” to the host that it will work as designed. Will try that.

Doesn’t work for me. I’m still getting the host’s default email address in new registrant emails. Hmmmm

Finally! I found other WP users who have the same problem I have. I’ve been searching for a solution for more than a week. I’ve phoned my web host and they said I should edit the php.ini file, but no such file exists and I wouldn’t know how anyway. You wouldn’t think this is such a difficult problem. I don’t want my host’s default email address in any of my internal WP emails to users. Does anyone know how to change the internal FROM email address? Thank you.

Thank you, vetto! I added an email account for “wordpress” and it works! Now why couldn’t my host tell me that!
