• Hey there.

I’m trying to figure out how to change from https to http on a wordpress hosted site. Every solution I’ve found on Google involves changing things in the editor or certain options in General Settings that I don’t have access to for some reason. Since WordPress is the host, I assume they must have some other way to make changes like these but they aren’t obvious and I can’t find solutions anywhere. I’m also a huge dummy.

    Help a brother out,
    Patrick

  • Where is your site hosted? If you are on a host where you can not access the files you should still be able to access wp-admin and make changes there but this is sometimes a change that is made in the htaccess file.

The host is Automattic. I can access wp-admin just fine and the account is an administrator account. How would I access the htaccess file? I’m not sure where to find it.

Last I checked they do not allow you access to the files and you need to contact them regarding changing the site from HTTPS to HTTP.
