    It is a design issue on your specific WP site, your site designer can help you.

    The following CSS may work:

    input[type="text"], input[type="password"], input[type="email"], textarea, select {
        color: #000000;
    }

    First of all, thank you for the plugin.

    However, I will second the original question as my site is doing the exact same thing. Furthermore, I don’t believe he or I have similar themes at all as mine Twenty-Fourteen. I also don’t believe this is a theme design issue, but rather maybe the settings which are in code and not enabled to allow user adjust. The same mindset seems to be in place without any options of adjusting for the ‘search results page,’ which for many, the underscore is a big flag for any URL choice, as a dash ‘-‘ is a better choice.

    But, that is beside my inquiry in being the same problem as listed in original question of the text font color in the search box itself. My site can be viewed here, search box is top left on desktop view, and towards the bottom on mobile view.

    Again, thank you for the plugin, but maybe there is some insight you could provide?

    A follow up to my inquiry as well as reference to original question user, I personally had my widget placed on my primary side bar, which is colored all black. I believe this interfere with the original code/font in which the font is same as background. When I placed the widget in my sidebar which has a white background, the font correctly showed in black.

    I came across this while adjusting JS and CSS with my cache plugin to optimize, & I am having parsing/async issues…

    Anyway, my apologies to the plugin author for assuming anything other than your response in being the correct issue.

    Again, thank you for the plugin and I can’t close this as I kind of hopped on board, but, my issue is fixed and maybe can do the same for user who left the question. Thank you

    Hi Chris!

    Thank you for let it know, and we are happy that the problem is solved.

    For further reference, this plugin cannot deal with design. The responsibility of this plugin is to insert Google CSE into WordPress sites, according to Google documentation.
    This is general plugin, and sometimes it may be necessary to slightly modify the stylesheet (css) of your site. Of course it is not the responsibility of Theme author, but the administrator or IT specialist who is responsible for the concrete site, and harmonize all specifically applied parts of the site.

    We can also help to solve these kind of problems.

    Once again, we are happy to solve that problem. If you have more questions, do not hesitate to contact us.

    Peter
