  • You can set this up under Options > Permalinks.

Is there a plug to create static html instead of the url saying php?

This one only works with WP version 1.2 not 1.5

I’ve messed with trying to Edit the Permalink Structure but I can’t seem to figure this out. Writing to the file wrong messed up my whole blog and it went down. I had to have the webhosting person reset my entire blog.

Your instructions on this link are not clear enough. I need a simple step by step how to because I am only a beginner programer. I can figure something out if I am given clear and good instructions.

    I figured it out …..
    /index.php/archives/%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/

posted in the Permalink Structure seem to work so you don’t have to upload stuff to your .htaccess file.

If you create an .htaccess file and CHMOD it to atleast 666 or 777, then you won’t need to add the index.php part to the permalink structure. Also, WP will change the .htaccess file as needed when you add pages.
