• I’m referring to the background of the ENTRIES (not the page background!) I prefer light text on a dark bakground, but can’t for the life of me find where I change it from the default annoying white. I would probably have to change the background colour of the sidebars accordingly.
    Anyone who can point me in the right direction? ?? Much thanks!

    Anyone?
    I’ve seen these issues adressed on other themes and tried to implement them in Mystique, but no luck. ??

    this seems to be the style of the post div (style.css):

    /* post */
    .post, .page{margin:1em 0 2em 0;padding:0 0 .6em;display:block;background:transparent url(images/dot.gif) repeat-x left bottom;}

    possible changes:

    /* post */
    .post, .page{margin:1em 0 2em 0;padding:0 10px .6em;display:block;background:#999777;color:#eeeccc;}

    adapt the color codes to your liking.

    Mystique also has a User CSS options page where you can place your own styles, rather than needing to edit the style sheet directly.

    @alchymyth: Thanks! ?? Well, that worked. But only on the entry background, which made all the rest look butt-ugly (As I suspected.) And if I changed the rest to match, it looked uglier than ever. :/
    And then I tried to change it back and now it’s all kinds of screwed up.

    @claytonjames:
    My CSS Style is written specifically with the LiveJournal Component theme in mind, so most of the commands in there wont mean anything to WP’s Mystique.

    I think I need to find a WP theme that is *fully* customizable from scratch to look like my old LJ theme, or one that looks the *most* like my old LJ theme. As much as there were snags and dislikes with LJ, it’s a million times better than WP so far when it comes to total personal customization.

    I’m not sure that’s exactly a correct assumption. I think it’s more a matter of understanding what you are looking at, and how to change it.

    I’m certain that is just your perception of things, based on your knowledge up to this point. I think you may just need some further exposure to HTML and CSS. Once you understand a little more about how they work, your opinion may change.

    Well that is true, yes. I’ve been using that code style more or less since 2003, so changing over to a whole new environment is a little confusing. :/

    I actually gave up on the Mystique theme and changed to the ‘blackneon’ theme. In just one day I’ve managed to tweak that far more to my liking than I ever got with Mystique, just got a couple small issues left to work out. Too bad it doesn’t support Twitter (yet) but that’s not something I’m hung up about.
