Changing Email Background Color?

    This seems like a really simple fix but I’m stuck.

    I’m using subscribe2 to email large group notifications from new entries. However, in testing I am getting the very dark background, which is my blog’s main background color (a light background image is over this so you can read the text on the blog page), appearing in Outlook and the dark text is unreadable. In the same email received in web clients this is not happening, the background is white.

    What I want to do is keep my blog’s background dark but for emails I want to send all email with a white background or at least stop the email from pulling the background color from the blog – I’ve tried plain text notifications as well, didn’t work. I can’t find anything in the css that I can change and I’m not sure where I would assign a new css class within subscribe2 or anywhere else in wordpress for the emails specifically.
    Ideas?

    I have fixed this…just as I thought I overlooked a simple option in the subscribe2 settings – do not attach css stylesheet. Feel like an idiot but someone else may too, so there it is.

    Yup, I feel silly, too. I had the same problem, and your post was very helpful! I’ve learned some html, but haven’t gotten around to understanding CSS. Thanks! Sandy
