    The plugin is working 99% perfectly…except translating Woocommerce Checkout “Postcode” text. Weird.

    I`m going from an English Site to Japanese but once the translation to Japanese is finished, is it possible to change the default language the user sees to Japanese?
    Basically I`m translating an English site for a Japanese company and they need the first language the user sees to be Japanese, with the option to change to English.

    Would anyone have an idea?
    Thank you.

  • Hello there,

    Thank you for reaching us about your question.

    Let’s make sure we got this straight.
    So the main language of the website is English and you are translating it to the secondary language which is Japanese?`

    Changing the default language will invalidate existing translations. We can’t keep them because the translations are directional and you’ll also need to change ALL your content directly in the new language.

    The default language is the language your content was written in.

    If you want another language to be the first language, then simply enable:

    * Use TranslatePress -> Settings -> Subdirectory for default language -> Yes
    * Reorder the languages`

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Thank you Andrei, I had same issue & I was already afraid I’d have to re-do all the translations!
