I would like to make the taxonomy columns a little bigger and content area a little smaller, as I have a lot of hierarticle categories, which is difficult to read as there are some will long names…

Hi @casperroux – I’d definitely like to see if I can help out with this. The specifics of how to do this might be dependent on your theme and how it has things set up.

Are you setting up the taxonomy columns manually in the Site Editor with a block theme? or is it something the theme is doing automatically?

If you could please share a link to the page where that is happening – I’ll be able to take a look and see how it is all happening ??

    Hi @casperroux,

No thank you – please don’t ever share access details on the forums here ??

Thanks for the screenshot – that’s very helpful. I see now that you mean the columns within the editor screen itself.

Whilst it is not possible to change the column widths in the editor – what you can do is move that Taxonomy panel over to the larger column on the left.

That can be done by clicking and dragging on the title/top of the panel. Here’s a video to see it in action:

Could you please try that out and see if it helps?

thank you… but I know how to do that, and is not what I want…
I want to resize both columns and also lock the widgets so users can not drag or hide them. I will look another solution

Thanks for clarifying @casperroux. It definitely sounds like what you’re hoping to do is modify the overall structure of the WP-Admin editor screen (which is something beyond what the Classic Editor plugin can help handle). So I’ll mark this issue as resolved for now.

Best of luck with it all!
