Changing colour of footer / colophon

  • Heey!

    I am using the Twenty-Eleven Theme.

    I am trying to change to colour of my footer / colophon (the part where it originally states “Powered by WordPress”).

    I have tried several different codes, such as

    #colophon {
clear: both;
background-color: #E3E0D7;
}

#site-generator {
background-color: #E3E0D7;
}

    But this does not appear to change anything.

    Any tips?
