the theme im using (belle) uses colour schemes which control the colour of certain elements, mainly titles.

Im trying to change the colour of these to something other than the available schemes (not that bothered about giving them different colours).
Ive looked through all the theme files in editor (even resorting to examining each instance of ‘#’) and cant find anything.
    Any help is much apprieciated.

sorry but I don’t think there’s anything on there which tells you how to select a custom colour – it just mentions the schemes available

tried adding a new colour scheme and calling it #ff0000, this just changes everything purple, which wasn’t an option. as i say, im sure ive gone through every mention of # (and therefore all the colours – i think) and theres no blue, green, red, yellow or any other colour that can be set. how else can you change colour in a site?

Have you tried contacting the theme’s developer?

their website is in romanian and they haven’t replied to anyone on getbelle.com for over a year :s i left a comment but not hopeful.

The problem with themes with such complex additional options is that they really need indepth knowledge of the theme’s code before you can come up with a possible solution. Sadly, I’ve never used the theme.

maybe you could make a child theme and create ur own style.css

it’s just.. you do know how to CSS right ? no offense..

ive absolutey no idea – the first time i edited anything in a theme or plugin was yesterday morning ??
was hoping that it would be a simple case of tracking down where the colours were coming from i could change them, but I can’t find them. Where would you expect them to be?

i never use the theme.. and apparently you might need to have some knowledge on making a child theme which u can find the tutorial in codex and CSS coding to make things easier

My guess is that the theme has it’s own theme options page and stores these options in the database. If so so, it down to hunting through the code and working out how these options are:

    a) stored
    and
    b) used to change the site’s display.

My guess is that you can only use pre-configured color schemes. So to add a new them, you would have to add it to the theme’s custom options. Not an easy job at all.

    Second @esmi ??

is that basically just tweaking the theme your using?
ive tried checking all the colours in the current style.css but no luck – they’re all just black white or shades of gray

so therefore its going to be damn near impossible?
is there anyway I can ‘override’ this – use the normal way of changing font colours?

Are you using the default scheme at the moment?
