Hello again!
The Canonical URL field of The SEO Framework does not change the page’s URL. I recommend emptying it again because it doesn’t serve your intention.
If you want to change the page URL to add more keywords, then you need to change the “permalink” (URL slug). You can find that setting at the right side of the Block Editor, or at the top of the Classic Editor.
If you’re interested in the Canonical URL field, I’ll try to explain below.
The Canonical URL field in TSF directs search engines to go from the current page to the one inputted (when it’s different from the page’s permalink)–the current page is still accessible for everyone else, but search engines will start ignoring it in favor of the canonical URL. I hope this helps ?? Cheers!
