Changing button color

Hi folks,

I have been trying to troubleshoot this for a bit now and am having no luck. Basically I need to change the background color on the “Read more” button on the events page of this website.

I followed the directions on https://support.theeventscalendar.com/153124-Themers-Guide#customizingstyles. This is the CSS I added:

.tribe-events-read-more {
    background-color: #29384f;
}

I placed it in a folder called “tribe-events” in my theme’s directory. Not sure what I’m doing wrong here. I also checked the Customize options and no luck there. Any thoughts on how to fix this?
