i’ve looked at that and it doesn’t help me at all. I need it explained in as simple of a process as possible. I am not great with computers and trying to decipher which of those things I need to do will never happen. I don’t understand why this isn’t a simple change like how I try to change the filezilla code to change the site url (so my blog shows up there but for some reason that doesn’t work, if someone could explain how to make my blog as a subdomain of my website that would be great too) Pretty much asking what else do i have to do after changing the site url and home url (do I need to change both) to make it so my blog is visible and I can edit it still, not on the original domain.

I’m sorry but the page I linked to above is about as easy as it gets.

Go to wordpress admin panel Settings>General and change site adress and/or wordpress adress. If I understood you right this is what you want, isn’t it?

With this settings your blog can be reached under any url you specify.

Noooo! That will create terrible problems.

esmi i originally did what plugins24 suggested as that was what I had found on other help pages (as a first step) was able to backtrack and fix that. I have tried the page you gave me and nothing worked. My public_html file was deleted from filezilla, so now I am waiting on what to do from webhost to get it back. So, looks like I’m stuck for a while.

My public_html file was deleted from filezill

That’s not a file – that’s the folder that contains anything viewable on your web site.

My mistake. I just put back the original files from when I downloaded wordpress so everything is back to how I started. Now should it be easier for me to change the domain of my blog?

In theory, yes. Can you access your site at its old url?

if i try to access the site it comes up as the empty blog and if I try to go to the website admin page it comes up with a 000webhost error. Which isn’t that big of a deal considering I wasn’t that far along in making my website, because I wanted to get the blog domain changed first.

You might want to just try re-installing WordPress from scratch.

thank you for all of your help esmi. I decided to re-install WordPress with a different host name through 000webhost and now my website and blog are both visible and I am able to edit them both. That was a very simple solution to what was a very stressful situation, all because I took advice from a google search and members instead of asking a moderator first.
