Changing attached to media

If you search the WP Plugins Directory for ‘attach‘, you will find several plugins that might work for you. For example, WP Better Attachments.

If you’re referring to what you see listed under the Media Library, that attachment is calling out the post or page the media item was originally uploaded too. You shouldn’t “change” or remove this attachment since it will also remove it from that originating post, however you can reuse the same media item as many times as you want anywhere else on your site.

This is really more meant for your reference to help you locate where the image was originally posted.
