• Hi,

Doing some SEO on my site – the current stage is updating the title/caption/alt text for images in the media library.

If I go to a post with an image that’s been updated in the media library, clicking on the image shows the old alt text. It is fine, if I delete and reinsert the image, but that’s a bit of a bind.

Is there any way of forcing the image in the post to refresh its alt text from the media library without reinserting. I’ve tried resaving the post, but no change.

    Thanks for the help.

    Christopher

    Hi,

There’s not really a way to do this that I’d recommend, as the alt text for an image should be dependent on the use case in the articles (the alt text is what’s used by screen readers, this should be your primary target with the use of them, and in that case the image should be descriptive to the article for the end user who relies on it).

We don’t have any images used in multiple posts/pages, but do agree that the option to change alt image context per post/page is a good feature.

The metas are now updated, and have just started re-inserting the images. Maybe just a couple of hours to complete, so not too bad!

    Thanks

    Chris
