great plugin, Much better for my own workflow,

HOWEVER: is there any way to force my published posts to accept the new updated alt text.

I have a few posts that have many images that i would like to have the ALT text added to without having to re install the images.

Am i missing something or do I have to add the new text then re upload the photo then republish the post!

this plugin calmed to do it however did not work. (SEO Friendly Images)

As far as I know you just modify the alt text through the media library and it should update it for that particular picture. Doesn’t matter if the picture is not attached, attached to only 1 post or attached to 1000 posts.

Unless I am completely missing what you are asking…

So you have a published post with a few images attached to it. If you go in and change the alt text using this plugin for those images it doesn’t update the alt text properly?

As far as I tested on my machine at work, NO. when I updated the Alt text and hit ….Save the media library changed however the image in a post did not. (a post that is already published)
I’m not sure this is meant to happen but it does (not sure its a cache issue)
I am now going to re-test on my home machine to see if there is a differance.

Yes, same thing on my mac at home as with my PC at work. the file updates in the media library, but the change does not filter though to the post.

    Is this normal?

Definitely not normal and not my intention for the plugin. I will look into this issue and hopefully be able to figure it out.

Ok, by any chance do you have the alt text set for the image inside of the post itself? What I mean is that if you go to edit your post that the image(s) are in and you click on the image and then edit it, is there content already filled into the alt text field?

If so, there is unfortunately no way around this as it gets hardcoded into the HTML content and it isn’t something that can be pulled from the database ??

    Hey Jarret,
Sorry for the delay, I uploaded the images using the:

Fast image insert plugin, in this plugin they have the option to do a MASS alt title input.

Some of the images I have uploaded I input an alt text some i did not?

Is there any work around, so I can still use your plugin to change the alt text AND use fast image insert?

    thanks man!

I’d have to download the plugin and run some tests to see how they handle the alt tags. Going out of town over the next few days (until Sunday) so I most likely won’t have an answer for you until after then.

Take a look at this thread?

Is this correct, AFTER inserting an image in to a post you CAN NOT update the alt text unless you reinsert the image?

is there any way around this?

Any news if this is possible? I also would like that my ALT tag for inserted images in posts change when I change the Alt tag in the library.

    Kind regards,

    Willem
