• I use Almost Spring as my theme. Ordinarily I think its blockquote feature is quite elegant. But since it always displays a gray line on the LEFT side of the blockquote, if I display an image aligned left, then I’m going to cause that line to disappear & so lose the effect of the blockquote. You can see this effect in this post.

I’ve e mailed Becca, the theme author & not received any response (this also happened earlier w. another theme-related issue…how I wish some theme authors would be a little more responsive to their users).

Would anyone have any solutions like a plugin or hack that would make blockquote stand out regardless of where an image was displayed in relation to it? Or perhaps css could do this? Say, when the image is on the left, the blockquote line would move to the right? Maybe there is an even better solution I’m not thinking of?

And if you ask why don’t I just align the image to the RIGHT in such cases…first you don’t always realize the image is going to conflict w. the blockquote until you see the actual published post display; second if you already have a previous image displayed RIGHT in the post, then moving the 2nd image (the one conflicting w. the blockquote) to the RIGHT entails moving the first image to the LEFT. It’s a little bit of a hassle.
