• Hi

I set up a blog for someone and whilst installing and getting it right had the admin email address pointing to me. Now I no longer manage the site and want all comment approvals to go to the owner of the site. I changed the admin address in the users area but I still get comments approvals sent to me.

Why please? And is there a way of ensuring I don’t please?

    Thanks

    Rich

  • I have the same problem! Strangely enough — after I changed the admin e-mail address, the comment notifications requesting approval go to the OLD e-mail address, but after the comments are approved, the e-mail with the approved comment goes to the NEW email address!!

Is this a known issue? Is there somewhere I could go into the actual WP database and fix it?

Since this is one of the first hits on googleing ‘changing admin email wordpress’ I thought I should provide the answer.

You are probably changing the admin email in Users > Authors & Users.
Instead you need to change the email address in Options > General Options.

    Clear?
    (No, quite confusing.)

The reason for the separation is that the main admin email is where all the moderation and other system emails are sent. The user’s profile is more like their own personal email, if they choose to use it.
