• I am getting the pop up “Leave Site? Changes you made may not be saved. All the time, if I change a page or not, and if I save (publish or update) the page or not.

This began after the 5.6.1 upgrade this morning. I have 2 sites, with 2 different themes, both with the classic editor 1.6 and it behaves the same on both. It does this in Chrome, it does not do it in Firefox.

Chrome also recently updated Version 88.0.4324.146
Nothing in the browser console log

  • I’m getting the same error. As a test I did a fresh install of WordPress 5.6.1 and installed the Classic Editor as the only plugin. Every time go into a page from the dashboard and then exit without changing anything I get the “Changes you made may not be saved error”. When I deactivate the Classic Editor plugin I no longer get the error.

I tried the same test with WordPress 5.5 + Classic Editor and I don’t get the error.

Same for me – it has saved everything, but still adds a ‘Changes that you made may not be saved.’ popup.

    On Chrome AND Safari.

same here on chrome 88 and wp v5.6.1 with classic editor, wpbakery and elementor.. on all updated websites of our clients. any official patch planned?

Thank you Konrad – fixed the problem fine.

Thank you for the fix, but it’s working only if user doesn’t click on a field, but if you enter in any fields, then exit the page, the alert message popup anyway. (WP 5.6.1 – Astra – Pods)

I tried the fix but didn’t work for me either. Also, the two custom post types I have in my theme so have support for title, editor and excerpt and the issue is still there so something else must be going on in addition to the fix you have. Any help would be amazing it’s a pretty jarring editing experience to have to click a dialog to confirm you haven’t saved even if you have every single page load.
