• A while back I made changes to the mctagmap_functions.php file. Recently, there has been a lot of updates to this plugin and every time I update I have to go back and update my change that was overwritten. I decided to just do what the Instructions FAQ said to avoid this issue going forward.

I created a folder: multi-column-tag-map in my theme’s directory. I moved over a copy of the mctagmap_functions.php file and made my edits there. Unfortunately, they don’t appear to be seen, the original file, not my newly created one is being read. So, in the end, I still have to make my edits to the overwritable file in order for them to actually take effect.

What am I doing wrong? Thanks!

Put the folder in your parent theme not your child theme and see if that does it. The option to use this folder was written almost six years ago so there is some pre-child theme legacy code that I need to clean up.

    Unfortunately, that didn’t work either.
