Changes only show up when I'm logged in

    I’m new to this and I updated the website with some minor changes, I added a twitter feed, some links and a few words and it looks absolutely perfect when I’m logged in. I didn’t know anything was wrong until a friend said hey, check the website cause stuff is missing. Sure enough when I log out it’s missing things it used to have before I even edited it. I’ve tried the cache clearing thing and different browsers. I can’t get the website to look the same to the public as it does to me.

    Please help I’m supposed to fix it asap. Also there was a “super cache” installed and it said there was an error so i tried deactivating it, error message went away but still the changes don’t show up.

    WP Super Cache adds rules to .htaccess – remove them and then also make sure any files WP Super Cache added are also removed.

    I can’t find my .htaccess file. Sorry I’m really new at this. I looked at the using permalinks page that came up when I searched for it but I don’t really understand it. Is there an easy way to find the file from the dashboard?

    Hi, ShowtimeSB —

    .htaccess is a “hidden” file in your root directory (the same place where wp-config.php is). You usually need to FTP into your account to find it.

    In lieu of that, you can try disabling your caching plugin.

    I already deactivated it. If i delete it completely will that screw something up or could it maybe fix the problem?

    There shouldn’t be any functional difference between disabling and deleting a plugin.

    You may have to set your file manager or ftp client to show hidden files.

    Thank you so much. I don’t know why there was a difference but deleting it instead of deactivating it looks like it worked. ??

    Thanks Seacoast Web Design. Thanks to you I was able to solve this issue W3 Total Cache causes the same problem..

    There is a way to fix this issue on WP Super Cache. I used to run a client site with it installed. I believe on the advanced tab hit delete cache that forces it to start over and displays the updated content.

    I had wp super cache running for a while and everything worked i uninstalled it and tried using w3 total cache and no one was able to view new post or existing post or any changes unless they were logged in. I uninstalled all cache plugins and my site now works normal and anyone can view post and updates. What causes this ? I checked the htaccess files but so far they all look the same and don’t mention anything out of the ordinary.

    I don’t have any “cache” plugin but i have the same problem. My site displays changes only when i’m logged in. Any idea?
    Recently I updated the wordpress theme and wordpress version at wp6.1.
