    Hi!

Sorry, it took me along time to actually upgrade your plugin to the newest version and then sit down and see how it behaves. I’m sorry to report that I still have issues with the same changes being shown on every scan.

    WP version: 6.5.5, multi-site | plugin version: 2.0.2

I just tried this now: I marked all scan results as read. Ran a scan. I got five changed files back:

    • wp-content/languages/themes/twentytwentyfour-de_DE.po
    • wp-includes/js/dist/components.js
    • wp-includes/js/dist/vendor/wp-polyfill-importmap.js
    • wp-includes/images/crystal/license.txt
    • wp-content/languages/de_DE-569e85ef168299eb8c8f24d8ef8c8a78.json

I am certain that these files have not indeed been changed, but ok. I again marked everything as read and ran another scan. The same five files are now being reported as changed.

I also had a look into some older mails and saw that these files were being reported five, six times per E-Mail, as if they were separate files.

I might need to have a closer look what the plugin actually stores in the database and why it thinks these files have changed…

  • Hello @ammaletu!

I am sorry to hear about this experience! In order to get a better understanding of what’s going on, I would require a few more details just to get things started:

    1. Can you please send us the system information file via email to [email protected] while referencing this support thread?

This file includes information about your website and our plugin’s setup so we can better understand how it is configured. You can get the system information file from the?System Info?tab in the?Help & Contact Us?section in the plugin.

    2. In our plugin Settings you can find an option to enable the plugin debug mode, which will also help us determine what actually happens during a scan – Here is a screenshot which will help you locate where to activate this here.

Once the scan is ready, and you are able to reproduce the same results as described, send the generated file to us as well (file can be found in /wp-content/uploads/mfm-logs folder once the scan is ready).

    3. You also mentioned “I am certain that these files have not indeed been changed” — can you confirm if these results were reported as file changes? or file added or removed? Can you also check, maybe with a comparison tool that there are indeed no changes done over these files?

There might be some custom process running on your site that actually modifies these or regenerates them regularly, so it would help to actually know for sure if there were indeed no changes over these files.

Looking forward to hearing back from you on this! Please make sure that you send the requested details via email, as they contain sensitive information about your site, and such information should not be shared or disclosed here on the forums.

    Many thanks

    Hello @ammaletu

Today we released update 2.1.0 of the Melapress File Monitor plugin. It has a good number of generic improvements and bug fixes, and we have addressed this issue. Can you please try the latest version update of the plugin and advise?

For the record, here is the plugin’s changelog.
