changes in the updated versions – where are they?

    Hi

    I was going to ask you this question long ago. It may seem silly, but hey – I’m not a developer.

    Whenever I read the details of the new updates, there are often several items that have been added, (as opposed to fixes and dev) yet for the life of me I can’t see them anywhere in my dashboard under WC or Products.

    For example, the current update 6.7.0 has new things like:

    Add – Adding task list sidebar panel on Activity Panel
    Add – Add tracks to new product and edit product screens
    Add – Add/edit products: add new Tracks props
    Add – Add product page spotlight tour

    What and where is the Activity Panel? I don’t have it in my Woocommerce menu.
    I can’t see any new tracks on the new product and edit product screens
    what is/ where is Add/edit products: add new Tracks props
    what is product page spotlight tour and how can I find it?

    My point is that I hardly ever see any changes in my WC and Products dashboard after an update.

    could you please advise

    These are good questions.

    The wording itself isn’t always clear, and the changes itself in some cases isn’t necessarily visible changes either.

    However, in order to get a better idea of where the actual changes are made, you could always reference the Github links per change in the changelog below, which will take you directly to the Pull:

    For example, the “Adding task list sidebar panel on Activity Panel” is a helper function. Clicking on the chage directly from the changelog will take you here:

    The Activity panel itself is an area is displayed when the Store Setup Checklist is hidden/done. It includes Orders, Stock, and Reviews panels to help you manage your store. You can read more about that here:

    thanks for your reply.
    Yes I thought that most of those changes are in the background and are not visible.

    I did click on the links to the Github, but to be honest the tech jargon doesn’t tell me much ?? and it doesn’t answer my question where the function is or what it does.

    that’s what I thought the Activity Panel is (logically), except that after the update I can’t see any Task List Sidebar panel there. Where should it be located?

    Re the Activity Panel – is it the HOME screen?

    I’ve got there:

    Orders
    Stock
    Inbox
    Stats Overview
    Store Management

    That’s all. There is no Reviews panel (which I do have on my product pages) or the newly added Task List Sidebar.
    I think that the Reviews Panel only shows unapproved reviews, not all approved ones.
    but I’m still searching for this new Task List sidebar! ??

    Thanks for the update!

    There is no Reviews panel (which I do have on my product pages)

    To locate the Reviews panel, you can navigate to Dashboard > Products > Reviews, as seen in the screenshot below:

    Yes, that’s correct. I believe the task lists panel would only show if there’s outstanding tasks, such as setting up taxes, shipping, payments etc. However, I am triple checking the code etc. so see what exactly that is/should be and will circle back shortly.
