Changes in the menu

  • Hi!

    I`m new with WordPress! I have two questions regarding the menu.

    1) I have customized the color of the hover, as well as the color of the background of the selected item on the menu. But then these changes wont appear in the site. I cannot solve that and dont know why is that, then Id like to make those changes manually in the code. How could I do that? I think it has to do with .main-navigation, .current-new-item background, etc. But then Im afraid to touch something it is not. It`s not the color of the font what I want to change or the color of the menu background in general (white), but the color of the background when an item is selected or I hover over it. I want it to be always white (or, since the background of the page is white, no color), whereas now is either black or gray.

    2) Would it be possible to reduce the space between the categories on the menu?

    If someone could answer, especially 1), I`d really appreciate it!
