• Hi,

In the Storefront child theme, we duplicated the archive.php template and incorporated an extra section. However, the modifications are not taking effect.

This issue persists even when attempting adjustments directly to the archive.php file in the parent theme, done solely for testing purposes.

No caching plugin was enabled during the testing.

It’s worth noting that we’ve successfully overridden WooCommerce templates before. For instance, we currently have woocommerce > single product > add to cart > simple.php in our child theme to modify the add to cart button, and this modification is functioning fine.

We appreciate any assistance you can provide.

    Best, Sanja

    Hi @sanjas

I understand you’re placing the modified files in your child theme which should normally allow the changes to take effect. However, it seems like this is not happening for the archive.php template.

Be sure to follow this guide on how to override templates in the right way:

    https://woo.com/document/template-structure/#how-to-edit-files

There could be a few reasons for this. One possibility could be a conflict with another plugin. Although you’ve mentioned that no caching plugin was enabled during the testing, it would be helpful to conduct a conflict test.

You can do this by temporarily deactivating all your plugins except WooCommerce and seeing if the changes take effect. If they do, reactivate your plugins one by one to find the one causing the conflict.

There’s more information in our self-service guide.

If the issue persists, it would be beneficial to send a screenshot of the directory structure and check for any server error logs. They can provide more detailed information about what might be causing the issue.

    Hope this helps!
