    Hi, I’ve been having issues with getting my sliders to save. I have three sliders and none of them were saving when I implemented changes to the styles, whether it be the width, effect, or advanced settings. Adding images seems to save, but nothing else does. I’ve deactivated plugins and themes but there doesn’t seem to be a conflict anywhere. Last time I needed to make a change I had to recreate the entire slider. For one of them, I had to delete almost all of the images down to only 12 in order for any changes to save, but this isn’t very productive. I should be able to save regardless of how many images I have in there. My client will have at least 100 images in this slider. Is this slider plugin not capable of handling what I need or is there a bug or setting that will allow changes to be saved for over 12 images?

  • Hi @eehpbd,

    Which version of the plugin are you using? Older versions couldn’t save more than roughly 150 slides, but version 3.8 can.

    There might be an issue with the server or something else. Can you check the developer’s console for error messages?

    I’m using version 3.8.1. I’ll check the console and report back. Thanks for the quick reply!

    I’m honestly unsure what I should be looking for with the errors. From what I can tell, it looks like it may be timing out? Here is what it showed when I went to the console:

    ****A lot of these for the images. I’m unsure if was all of them but I think so. I’ve only shown a few here. The (425×300 is what was in there and I tried to change it to 325×300)****

    I’m using PHP 7.0 and I had previously increased memory.

    Hey @eehpbd,

    The important stuff would be in red. I’m guessing a lot of those are in yellow, right?

    Can you open the developer tools first, then save? That way it will show more information in some cases, especially the full URL.

    (@eehpbd)

    Actually all is in white. Just three are yellow. No red. I did open the tools before I ran the update/save. Just did another one and the same output.

    Above where the images start:
    load-scripts.php?c=0&load[]=jquery-core,jquery-migrate,utils,moxiejs,plupload,jquery-ui-core,jquery-ui-widget&ver=4.9.6:9 JQMIGRATE: Migrate is installed, version 1.4.1

    **this one is yellow**

    load-scripts.php?c=0&load[]=jquery-core,jquery-migrate,utils,moxiejs,plupload,jquery-ui-core,jquery-ui-widget&ver=4.9.6:2 [Violation] ‘DOMContentLoaded’ handler took 536ms

    ***image ones here*** (I did take out the url in the images to save space but it’s all there.)

    **This is the last entry in yellow**
    load-scripts.php?c=0&load[]=jquery-core,jquery-migrate,utils,moxiejs,plupload,jquery-ui-core,jquery-ui-widget&ver=4.9.6:4 [Violation] ‘readystatechange’ handler took 67261ms

    Hi @eehpbd,

    The yellow warnings shouldn’t affect anything. Red warnings indicate a problem that could stop processing on the page.

    Can you look under the network tab and see if the request is being sent? Open the dev tools the press save. Click on XHR and find admin-post.php. https://prntscr.com/k11vew

    Hi @eehpbd,

    I’m going to mark this as resolved as we didn’t hear back, but please feel free to comment or open a new issue if needed, thanks!

    Hi, I wasn’t able to find anything and then I had to move forward with finishing up the site. It’s still not resolve though. And I’m not 100% what I’m looking for with the network tools. Everything appears to be working fine as far as I can tell. In chrome when I look at the preview area, after I perform the change and click save, it says:

    {success: true, data: {message: “The slideshow was successfully updated.”}}
    data
    :
    {message: “The slideshow was successfully updated.”}
    success
    :
    true

    I would assume this means that it works, but, nope. If I leave the metaslider and return, the changes I made weren’t saved.

    I had to make a change to both my sliders (same pics in each) and had to delete 200 so the change would save. Then I had to add them all back in. (which actually gives me another question: is there a bulk delete option?)

    Hi @eehpbd,

    Those messages mean that the server is accepting the changes and reporting that everything was a success. You can try to update some settings on the server. You might have to contact your hosting company though. In php.ini can you set.

    max_input_vars = 3000;

    We don’t have a bulk delete option but I can add it to our development list. Thanks for the feedback on that.
