• As new developer made ??a huge fuss over this plugin, I looked at the history of changes. So here’s my opinion:

V1.9.13 – latest stable and normal version. Safe to install.
V2.0: slow, heavy, buggy. NOT safe.

NEW: Improved user experience throughout the plugin, settings and usage.
    – It’s not improved at all.

NEW: Complete redesign of the NextGEN options panel
-Slow, impractical compared to the previous version. Awful.

NEW: Added new interface for adding galleries from pages and posts.
-Same – slow, heavy, impractical. What’s wrong with old interface? Don’t fix/change something that is not broken and was fast/practical. Earlier, we can add galleries/albums with 2 clicks. Now we must face with slow and heavy interface and need to answer on questions like: “What would you like to display?” and “Select a display type”… Is this quiz/survey or something? ??

NEW: Architecture based on Pope Framework
MAJOR problem of all new versions. Remove it and your dreams will come true.

Changed: Replaces shortcodes with placeholder images, however still supports legacy shortcodes.
-Why? It was working fine and the code was shorter. Again, why trying to fix/change something that is not broken?

V2.0.7: broken, buggy, critical bugs (webhost can suspend your account because of this version), slow, heavy
NEW: New resource manager that fixes many plugin and theme incompatibilities
-No it’s not! It brings more conflicts.
Fixed: Incompatibilities with other addons and themes
    -No it’s not.

    V2.0.11 – V2.0.17: broken, slow, heavy
    V2.0.21: same as above

  • Well said!

    Hi there,
Even I didn’t take accountability of the every NGG version prior 2.0.x I like to propose a variation in the meantime:

V1.9.13 – latest stable and normal version. Safe to install.
    V1.9.14 – NextCellent is out.
V2.0: slow, heavy, buggy. NOT safe.
