    Hello,

So I had just updated everything and wanted to tinker with wordpress, and had changed my wordpress URL AND site address URL in Settings > General from https://caitlincerra.com/wordpress to https://caitlincerra.com/ or https://caitlincerra.com (not sure, hopefully the / won’t matter?).

Now I cannot log into my site from the normal log in link, and my wordpress site no longer is working. All of the formatting is gone from everything, as you can see if you go to https://caitlincerra.com/wordpress. Also, when I try to log into my site at https://caitlincerra.com/wordpress/wp-login.php, I get the following error

    Not Found

The requested URL /wp-login.php was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Apache Server at caitlincerra.com Port 80

I hate to be melodramatic, but please tell me I didn’t permanently murder my baby!

    And thanks for the help!

Also, my site is hosted with GoDaddy, in case that’s important.

  • Access your sql database and in the *_options table you have a row with the meta_key = “siteurl” make sure that the meta_value next to it is correct. by correct I mean where your wordpress php files are saved (you can check this with a ftp client).
after you correct this you should be able to connect to your site.

First open a new browser and login to your cpanel account on your web hosting.

Second look for the phpMyadmin and look again for the database used for the blog mostly likely it is wp_ for default.

Third look for this wp_options table click it then click the Browse under this panel you will see data for it… first line is the one to be changed the siteurl as option_name and http:wwww… is the option_value

Fourth click the Pencil Icon to edit it then a panel will popup then change the website address where the wp-admin folder is located then click go…
