I had to move a network to another host. I got new hosting and recreated the network there. The url was obviously <defaultcustomerurl>. In the host’s admin I had this <defaultcustomerurl> as domain. I added the to-move domain in order to create mailboxes.

Then I moved the domain from the old host to the new and connected the domain to the hosting, but this didn’t bring up the WP network, but some default index.html of the host, located in the ‘tree’ of <defaultcustomerurl> and not <mydomain>.

In the network I have a main site and 6 subsites, 4 of which I’m going to domain map as soon as these domains have moved as well. I wondered what would happen if I changed <defaultcustomerurl> to <mydomain> in the WP settings and to my surprise, it didn’t break the site. So I did the same for the main site which of course did break the site (including admin).

Since, I’ve changed the url in wp-config, I’ve went into the database to change the urls there, but now every site except the one of which I had changed the url in WordPress, gives a database error.

    I’m sure I miss something, but what…?

Right, wp-admin gave an error about the wp_blogs table and indeed, the old url was there as well. Now all subsites work, but not the main site. It apparently can’t connect to the theme.

Yes, the last mistake was that I forgot https:// in wp-options.
Most if fine now, I’m going to do some more testing.

Argh. When I’m not logged in, images won’t load (but I can open them successfully in a new tab) and when I try to save something, I’m notified that I’m probably offline…………

The Really Simple SSL plugin seems to solve that problem.

Most problems are solved but one. When I log in to the main website, after login in the domain name is repeated in the url and the login page simply reloads. This undoubtedly has to do with me changing urls. Any suggestions as to where to look?
