• I’m very new to wordpress so this problem is hpefully and probably a small fix.

I was successful in setting wordpress up on my server, and saw the first page of my blog – the one that’s automatically set up before you make any changes. Then I Tried logging in as admin and that was good. Then I went looking for themes and chose one I liked, downloaded it and put the theme directory in
    wordpress / wp-content / themes / .

As soon as I did this, my blog page became a blank screen, and any attempts to interface with wordpress through the browser result in similar blank screens. I can’t log in because wp_login.php does the same thing. I do have access to the guts of wordpress through my server interface, but I have no idea where to start fixing this.

So I have tried nothing. Except this message to you. help.

  • Using ftp or sign in to your hosted account. Go to the folder wp-content/themes/yournewtheme. Change the name of that theme to anything. That will force wp to open with the default theme.

Hey, that worked! I guess I could have also deleted it, but the trouble is… i kindof liked the theme.

Any idea why this would have happened?

    Thanks again!
