• My company’s website and wp blog were both hosted with svnaturally.com, with the blog being svnaturally.com/blog

We changed hosting from godaddy to Magento when we changed our website over to Magento Go. Now the blog is missing and I can’t log in. Even when I go to https://www.svnaturally.com/blog/wp-login.php I get re-directed to the svnaturally.com

I don’t know too much about this type of thing at all, and I feel pretty dumb asking about. The person who made the blog for us is no longer apart of the company. I’m really hoping we didn’t lose our theme and 40+ blog posts and plug in subscriptions!

Any help you can provide me would be great, thank you.

    Liz

  • What is in your domain’s root .htaccess file?

    Hi esmi,

I don’t know what an .htaccess file is, I assume the only way I can fix this is if I have access to the wordpress folders? I don’t have access to them, I have emailed the former designer/web master and he hasn’t responded.

I’m sorry but there’s nothing we can do here to help. Someone must have access to your site’s hosting via FTP.

As far as I know from past interactions, Magento Go is a hosted platform for a Magento store only. You don’t get any other functionality or the ability to run any other systems from it. As long as you’re going to use it, you’re only ever going to be able to use Magento – and nothing else.

The only way that I can see around that is to create a sub-domain like blog.mysite.com if your domain registrar allows that (some do, some don’t) and point that to another separate hosting service, and that will be able to host your WordPress installation.

Thanks everyone, we were able to get it back once we got access to our old hosting.
