• Hi everyone,

I just started using WordPress last week, and have been slowly building my website.
I’m using the Catch Everest Theme and since it didn’t have a way to add menus to the footer, I consulted a website that walked me through how to do it.

The first step was to add something to the functions.php page, which I did, but then got the dreaded “Server Error”. I went back and deleted the code I added, but still get the error. I even found the exact original code for the functions.php page via Google, copies and pasted it, and still nothing. I can’t log in, can’t make any changes to anything at all! I’m just stuck in the functions.php page with no clue as to what I did wrong.

Can anyone help? My website is arcturusastrology.com, if that helps.

    Cheers,

    Lynne

I deleted the folder, and do have all of the default themes that you mentioned. Still can’t access anything, though.

Hmm, well, try deactivating your plugins by renaming the plugins folder:

    wp-content
        plugins.HOLD

I think this is something more than a single theme’s functions.php

    There’s nothing here at all:

Your whole WordPress installation is malfunctioning, which could be any number of things.

I recommend working with your host, or find a better one.

I deactivated the plugins, and still nothing.

I’ll contact my host about the installation problem.

Thanks everyone! I really appreciate your help! Hopefully this will be resolved.
