Changed folder name and now I can’t log in

  • I tried finding something on this but I couldn’t.

    I was just changing the name of the directory in which my WordPress files were located and now I guess I screwed up the cookies or something and I can’t log in. It won’t recognize my password and when I request a new password, all I get in the email is a bunch of jibberish. Any help?

    You changed the name of the blog directory without telling WordPress first. Now WordPress doesn’t know where it is, and you can’t login to point it in the right direction (because it doesn’t know where any of its files are). You will have to manually change the ‘site_url’ and ‘home’ values via phpmyadmin.

    That’s what I don’t understand. I thought I told it first. I editted the directory of the blog to the name that I was going to change it to first. I dunno…
