• Hi All,
I’m a programmer and I have an articles directory with ~500.000 articles now but my CMS have a big problem in SEO. I want to make a articles directory CMS ready for 5.000.000 articles or more with wordpress base engine. I have two choice:
    1. wordpress single user : Users can register as an author and submit their articles. (I worry about speed of wordpress engine in 2.000.000 articles(posts) or more.)
    2. wordpress MU : Users can register as a blogger and submit their articles as posts and Main Blog show articles in normal figure(Articles Directory CMS).
    3. Your offer…
Does anyone have a suggestion or opinion?

    Thanks in Advanced

  • I think your idea to use WordPress MU is a good idea. Let each author post their stuff in their own blog. Then, use the WordPress MU Sitewide Tags Pages plugin to aggregate all the posts onto the main blog. That is what I am using at GrandSlambert, Safe Family Fun and Holiday Road – all fairly new sites but ones that will eventually have thousands of posts.

BTW, I set up the Holiday Road blog last night in a matter of three hours, most of that time writing the four articles. ??

And I wouldn’t worry about the speed of the site. At work we use WordPress in a corporate Intranet with hundreds of thousands of posts and all seems to work very well on the speed front.
