    Hi,

After having tried many different themes i found Virtue and am amazed on the beautiful design and the amount of possibilities. Using the free version for testing i consider moving to the premium version as soon as i have learned all the basics…
I wonder if it is possible to change the width of a sidebar, i.e. make it more narrow and having the main content wider?
Could i possibly do that in Custom CSS and if, how?

    Thanks in advance

  • This really isn’t possible without some pretty extensive work with the files. The sidebar uses a span4 class. The theme is built on a 12 column layout that changes size based on screen size. The responsive design means that on small screens 4 columns is pretty small but on larger screens it’s pretty large. If you change the sidebar to use 3 columns then on small screens it could look really small. This also causes there to now be one extra column in the layout, which breaks the layout for the content area.

So to do what you want you have to change how the main content and the sidebar are called into the theme as well as ever other item used in the theme that takes advantage of the column structure.

Meaning it can get messy quick.

So the simple answer is no this really isn’t suggested.
