    Hi there,

I am checkin out your plugin and comparing it with others to find the best way for my workflow.

I wonder if it’s possible to change the width of the Custom Widget that is added by your plugin?

Would be amazing to select e.g. full-width widget. Currently I can only give a name and add content or a shortcode to it.

I think the only workaround is to use the Custom Welcome Panel instead. It’s on top of all other widgets and full-screen. However, it’s not necessarily shown to everyone and perhaps only shown one time only (dismissible)

I hope it’s clear what I am looking for. Perhaps you have a good idea how to fulfill this.

    Thanks

    Markus

@markussss The Custom Widget is limited by the constraints built into the WordPress dashboard. The dashboard only goes full-width when the screen size is small enough. As the screen size grows, so does the number of columns. I don’t know of a way to force a widget to be full-width while the rest fall into line with the regular layout.

You are right about the Custom Welcome Panel being hit or miss. Your users might have it disabled already.

So, long answer, you might be out of luck with White Label and full-width widgets in the way you want. Sorry.

Thanks a lot @linksoftware for your quick response. Even though I was secretly hoping for something else, it’s good to know and learn from your perspective.

I checked again, and I see that the other plugin White Label CMS can do this. I would like to use your plugin instead, as I see other advantages. If you ever get to this topic, it might be a reference to see how they implemented it.

It’s called “Second Dashboard Panel” there. But even when activated, it is still possible to add additional dashboard widgets below the full-screen dashboard panel

I just learned about your plugin a few days ago. I really like that I can setup the login screen (good looking) without an additional plugin. It also applies the design to the password-protected page when using the Password Protect plugin. There are many other good features, keep up the good work

@markussss No problem. Thanks for taking the time to check out White Label.

I assumed the best way to do this was to break out of the existing widget system. It makes sense that other plugins go that route. Unfortunately, the original developer wrote the Custom Widget as it currently works and I haven’t had time to rethink it.

I’d ultimately like to add the ability to create multiple widgets. Whenever I get to that, breaking them out of the current interface and into their own area makes a lot of sense.

Thanks again for your feedback. I appreciate it.
