Change to Permalinks and Broken Links

  • I recently added a plugin that must have changed my permalink structure because I think that it is different than I had before.

    If this is happened, does that mean that any links back to the site before the permalink change will be broken and if it does, what can I do about that?

    I really would appreciate a little advice here. I’m not much of a coder.

    I’ve read that it’s a good idea to have numbers in the permalink structure and that was how I set up my permalinks in the dashboard. I installed a directory plugin and have decided now not to use that. But I think it change my permalinks to use categories. In between installing the plugin and deactivating it I’ve added about 20 posts and these have been linked to by some of my FB followers. I’m worried that if I change my permalinks again, I’ll get broken links and want to know if I should set up some redirects to deal with this?
