Change Theme

    I administer https://ifieldparish.org and wish to change its theme to one called “Longevity”. But before going live with it will want to make some changes. Being a complete novice I have no idea how I can do this without interfering with the current theme, neither do I know how I would upload the site with its new theme if and when I manage to make the change.
    I would be very grateful if someone could send me some instructions and provide some help to get me through this problem. Being 84, and having very little if any proper knowledge about WP, I am rather careful when working on the current site in case I ruin what I have got already. Any constructive help or advice you can supply will be very much appreciated.
