• Good morning,

I have a very big problem. I have a blog with more than 1000 published opst. The theme I use is Hueman, which I find cute, but which I would like to change.

I tried to change the theme, first by installing one without post format. Later I chose one that had post formats, but unfortunately no theme I found correctly displays the various post formats. The problem is therefore that the post video formats, for example, are no longer seen, the post citation no longer display the citations inserted in them and so on.

In practice I would be forced to edit more than 600 posts by hand.

There is a way to change themes by migrating post formats correctly?

Is there any way to fix this, even a plug-in?

I tried to look for something, but I still haven’t been able to find anything, except to understand how post formats work, but I’m still far from the solution.

    Thanx

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • A lot of new themes doesn’t support the post formats, You can either find a fully supportive post formats theme or you can create a child theme if you have a little bit of coding knowledge and you can add support for post formats and you can create several templates to display content based on post formats.

Thanks @vijayhardaha, I have already found many new themes, even free ones, that use post formats, but none, for now, can correctly read those coming from my current Hueman theme. You are not aware of any plug-in that can do an export and import?

This is a big problem for anyone who has used post formats.

Changing the theme doesn’t require any export/import. You just need to find a compatible theme or make the theme compatible with a custom child theme.

@vijayhardaha I understand, but I’m not practicing code or better, I could put myself in it, but I don’t really want to waste a lot of time on this job. I wanted to understand if it was possible to change the theme and find all the contents as they were inserted with the previous theme … could you do it? How many could it take? Do you have any advice for me?

    I found something here: https://themeisle.com/blog/wordpress-post-formats/

Basically, as I had already understood, it is that the post formats are different from theme to theme or rather the content URLs are saved in different meta from theme to theme and therefore it is actually a problem to manage the modification of the theme and find a compatible theme even by the same developer.

These blessed post formats should be standardized!
