Change the reported Donation goal

What I did was just manually add donations with one account (i gave it a first and last name of BEFORE GIVE) – That way on my donor’s page, I knew which donations were taken before we installed.

There is an add on to manually add donations but it is paid.

As @vergedesign mentioned (thanks for chiming in!), you can manually add donations via the front-end if you like, and we have a Manual Donations Add-on which is a bit more seamless for adding via the backend as well.

But if you have A LOT of donations that are “before Give” then you’ll need a bulk solution. We don’t currently have our own importer, but WP All Import works really well overall, you’ll just need to import your donors FIRST and then import your donations. Fair warning: I haven’t personally done an import with WP All Import and Give, but I’ve done various other imports with WP All Import, it’s a great plugin and very full featured, but most likely you’ll need to purchase their “Custom Fields” Addon to do everything you want. We have had several customers use it with success as well.

Thanks @vergedesign and @webdevmattcrom ~ I think a block donation to get the progress-meter up to speed is fine. Are you saying to enter an Offline Donation?

Yes, you could do that with Offline Donations just fine. Just make sure that after you submit it, you go into WP Admin and set it to “Complete”. The goal will only reflect that new amount after the Offline Donation is marked to Complete.
