Hi, I have a problem with my permalinks.

for some reason I cant change a page permalink without getting a number after the permalinks name.

    ex.
    domain.com/page-3/childpage/
    domain.com/page/childpage/

Ho do I do to get the second example?
I tried to change the page slug and the permalink under tha page name but no real success.

I obviously have to do some database work, but where do I find the strings?

    Or is there another way?

    Please help!

    Thanks!!

  • The number is there, because some where there are already pages with that same slug.

If you have a page with the slug “about”, the next page you create with that slug will be “about-2”, and so on.

Typically, if you are running into this problem, you already have pages with those slugs in your trash. If you empty your trash, you should be able to reuse those slugs.

    Thanks for your reply!

Never got hold of the client after 2 weeks of work ?? that sort of solved the problem with the permalinks ??

No problem Pierre, that’s one way to solve it!
