Change the number of customers by only 1 or 2 when using Fake & live mode

Is there a way to ensure that the number of visitor’s (when using fake mode & live mode together) only changes by 1 or 2 numbers. I’ve set the number values to be between 3 and 37 but it looks a bit strange when the product updates from having “22 other people are currently viewing this product” to it suddenly becoming “5 people are currently viewing this product” within a few seconds.
