Hi, I am using a custom login URL, instead of the default “wp-login.php”. So when a hacker gets locked out from a brute force attack, I want them to be locked out on my custom login page. Once they are locked out, they can view my custom login page and start to brute force attack again. I am just wondering if it is possible to make a lockout to block my custom login URL instead of the default.

    Thanks!

  • Just curious, if you are using a custom login URL, how are the hackers figuring out what it is? Perhaps you need to supply a public viewable login link on your pages that reveals the custom URL? If so, why use a custom login URL? MTN

    Hi @hobbercode
It depends on the plugin/code-snippet you are using to alter the default WordPress login functions, depending on that further plugin modification might be required, I recommend setting your “Brute Force Protection” options more tight, that should decrease number of these attacks.

    Thanks.
