• Hi all,

Looks like this Theme is pretty dead but I’m trying to help a client who doesn’t want to upgrade. I’ve created a new homepage using the page builder and set it as the home static page in WordPress’s Reading Settings. However it still uses the homepage from the Theme Options.

How can I get around this and just use the page I created?

    Many thanks in advance!!

    Cheers

  • On the menu, if you go to Appearance => Customize and then Homepage Settings, do you have a static page selected (instead of latest posts)? If so, just select the page you created in the Homepage dropdown.

If you have done that, try hard refreshing your browser, Ctrl-F5 or close the browser and re-open it. Also make sure that your visibility of the page is set to Public – this can be seen when you edit your page on the right side pane.

    Thanks for your response!

I’ve done both of those things but still no luck… I think it’s an actual limitation of the theme. The only homepage you can create is within the Theme Options. Is there a way to stop the code looking for the “Theme Options Homepage” and look for the default static instead?

    Cheers!

Not sure why you would want to use a static page instead of a home page using the theme – I’ve had no trouble modifying it to the way I need. Kind of defeats the purpose of using the theme and maybe you should use a different theme that allows for a static front page.

Without adjusting the code manually, you’re probably not going to be able to do it. Plus, future updates to the theme could potentially overwrite your changes.

The issue I have is that the homepage is really restrictive. You are forced to use their layout, slider, services and projects. You aren’t even able to add a block of text or change the order or use visual composer for the homepage. It seems pretty counter intuitive to be limited for your homepage but not the rest of the site.

    Thanks for your help.
