    The real-time functionality is already offered by Google analytics much lighter way for server since it is Google’s servers that work and not those of your host.
    However, shared hosters hate you consume a lot of resources.
    I do not think it is a good idea.

    I have a site that is not accessible to google… hence I like this.

    Also users like to be able to manage it in their own site, rather than worry about google accounts… I know it is better though with Google.

    Is there a plugin that pulls google analytics data into the WordPress backend?

    wassup makes real time, for my part, I prefer the spy visitors is much more readable.
    real time is fun at first, but you get tired very quickly.
    There are plugins that integrate Analytics, but I do not know of StatPress that does.
